Traditional Vietnamese Ceremony

You are invited to a Traditional Vietnamese Ceremony. On the day of the wedding, the groom's family will make a trip to the bride's home with gifts to officially ask permission to receive the bride. The groom's family and close friends will present the gifts in decorated lacquer boxes. The members of the procession are introduced to the bride's family, and the bride's family introduces its members to the procession. The groom will then present his gifts to the bride's family, and he will be then given permission to greet the bride, who's finally brought out.

The permission ceremony begins in front of the bride's ancestor altar. The bride and groom burn incense sticks, asking for permission from the ancestors to bless them. The couple turns and bows to the parents, give thanks for raising and protecting them. This is followed by a formal tea and candle ceremony.

Traditional Chinese Ceremony

You are invited to a Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony. Tea is believed to bring happiness to the couple and to foster good relations between the bride and her new in-laws. The groom’s family members sit in chairs, while the newlyweds kneel before them and serve the tea. It is served in a special order, starting with the groom’s parents, then proceeding from the oldest family members to the youngest, including the paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings, and so on. In return, the newlyweds receive lucky red envelopes.
